WELCOME TO LAURA MCLELLAN

We are excited to announce that Laura McLellan has joined Horsfield Menzies as a Partner and the Head of our Leeds office. I managed to sit down and ask her some questions about her career to date and here’s what she had to say:

What’s your career journey been to date? 

I started my training contract at Squire Patton Boggs (Hammonds as it was at the time) in 2005. I stayed there for 14 years and gained a wide experience of acting for national and international clients across all sectors. I then spent two years at Walker Morris, largely trying to keep on top of the ever changing furlough scheme rules! I have spent the last four years as a partner at Knights working on a wide range of contentious and non contentious matters. 

What’s been your career highlight? 

There has been many, but I think I’d have to say a huge class action brought by 500 Claimants against a national retailer who I was acting for. I spent 6 or so intense months working with a KC preparing it for Hearing. It was very stressful at the time, but luckily the client was brilliant and we successfully defended it at Tribunal. 

What excites you about joining Horsfield Menzies? 

A lot! I’m excited about the team - high quality lawyers with a great background and experience who want to focus on people issues and solutions. I’m also especially excited to introduce and grow the firm in the Leeds market. 

What do you like to do when you’re not busy lawyering? 

Spending time with my two boys - absolute chaos! But I wouldn’t have it any other way! I’m partial to a holiday too!
